About Eddie Jelinet

Eddie Jelinet's artistic career began at the early age of 10 when he was commissioned to paint his first mural at Netzahualcoyotl elementary school in Mexico. Months later, he was granted a scholarship to attend Casa de Cultura in Baja California where he participated in artistic local events and won several awards along with the recognition of the community. Later on, he began his studies in painting and art history at the Cultural Institute of Mexicali Baja California, Mexico. Eddie now lives in Long Beach, California where he continues his artistic career. In his new series of paintings titled "Allegory of the Body and Soul", the artist presents a unique approach in his technique, featuring an impressionistic use of different mediums. His bright gold background and coloring each character in festive colors, perhaps to accentuate the character of each individual. The serenity of his various portraits and religious images is combined with unparalleled, poetic attention and detail, both of their meaning and exquisite portrayals.
